Dinner at Bungalow hosted by Meherwan Irani and Vikas Khanna part of the Bank of America Dinner Series

If you love Indian food and you haven’t tasted the cuisine of Meherwan Irani, you’re seriously missing out. He’s the chef of Chai Pani in Asheville, North Carolina. Two years ago, Chef Irani’s restaurant won a James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant and it’s been impossible to score a table there ever since.

Or you could attend this unique dinner at Chef Khanna’s Bungalow in the East Village where he’s teaming up with Chef Meherwan Irani from Chai Pani for one night for a truly amazing subcontinental dinner. On the menu, guests can find Bun Kabab (Chargrilled lamb sirloin, ghee, tamarind onion, pav) and Patra ni Macchi (Alaskan cod, coconut and green chili masala, banana leaf, wedding pickle, kachumber), Yogurt Kebab, Purple Cabbage, Spicy Mango Gel, Kataifi and Chicken Anarkali, Pomegranate Glaze and Pickled Radish.

These two chefs, one originally from Punjab, the other from the state of Maharashtra, have something in common: they’re both changing the perception of Indian cuisine in America, leading tiny revolutions in how we view and eat Indian food, one bite at a time.
