What is your favorite NYC restaurant? And what is your go-to dish? Unfair question! NYC is so full of diversity and tremendous foods to try. Right now I am really digging the New World Mall in Flushing, Queens. Crab Soup Dumplings are lights out. What is your ultimate meal? Really depends on the day! Right now my ultimate meal would be a tomato salad with some bread and cheese. Fresh tomatoes and basil from the backyard, raw yellow onion, touch of sea salt, some Greek olive oil from my neighbor’s family in Greece, Italian twist loaf from Rose & Joe’s Bakery and a warm piece of fresh mozzarella from Rosario’s. What three things are always in your pantry? Salt, sugar and fat. If you weren't a chef, what would you be? Dead. If you could cook with anyone, who would that be? George Washington, I’d like to see the wooden choppers in action. What’s your favorite NYCWFF memory? I was having a casual conversation about NYCWFF with a guest and they mentioned how the NYC Food Bank has really helped their community. That simple comment made an impression upon me. The work that NYCWFF does has a real and lasting impact. That conversation is not something I will forget anytime soon.
