AMY SCHERBER is the owner and founder of Amy’s Bread. The bakery just celebrated its 26th Anniversary! Amy opened Amy’s Bread in 1992 with 5 employees in a 650 square foot store front and today the bakery has grown to over 200 employees with retail cafes in Hell’s Kitchen, Chelsea Market and The Village, kiosks in The NY Public Library, The Pantry, and a café in the Museum of the City of New York, as well as bread and pastry kitchens and offices in LIC, Queens. AMY SCHERBER is the owner and founder of Amy’s Bread. The bakery just celebrated its 26th Anniversary! Amy opened Amy’s Bread in 1992 with 5 employees in a 650 square foot store front and today the bakery has grown to over 200 employees with retail cafes in Hell’s Kitchen, Chelsea Market and The Village, kiosks in The NY Public Library, The Pantry, and a café in the Museum of the City of New York, as well as bread and pastry kitchens and offices in LIC, Queens. Today she runs the company with her husband Troy Rohne, Vice President. The bakery is known for rustic breads, morning pastries, unique sandwiches and salads, layer cakes, and seasonal sweets. Although this small bakery has expanded, Amy’s Bread is still a local neighborhood business at heart, a family run bakery where all baked goods continue to be handmade with great care and the best ingredients.
