Daniela Alvarez is a young entrepreneur looking to make a niche for herself with fun and innovative food. Shortly after Daniela graduated from SUNY Potsdam, with a degree in Fine Arts she opened her first food business with two friends. After the company fell apart she hit a rough patch and decided to leave her past behind to start a new venture on her own. In the Summer of 2018, Spoonfuls Inc was born! Her new line of dessert jars is a unique twist of an old-fashioned trifle. Alvarez took influences from her favorite nostalgic foods and is on a mission to bring back a variation on this forgotten dessert in a whimsical way for a new generation. All puddings and whipped creams are made fresh to order with eggs sourced from seven friendly neighborhood chickens. The fresh whipped cream that tops her jars are marbled by hand with vibrant colors with a true artistry. The labels incorporate original artwork hand painted in watercolors by Alvarez also featuring her sidekick, Spoon. These scrumptious desserts are truly unique inside and out. Enjoy happiness by the spoonfuls!

What is your favorite NYC restaurant? And what is your go-to dish? My favorite place to eat depends on my mood. I like little holes in the wall, food trucks, street carts and food markets. My go-to-dish is a good slice of pizza or bagel, Quintessential NY fuel! What is your ultimate meal? My mom's Shrimp Ceviche (Ecuadorian style), Bolon de Verde, Coffee, Mimosas and my Drunk Money Jar for Dessert. What three things are always in your pantry? Sugar, Tea and Popcorn. If you weren't a chef, what would you be? If I wasn't busy making my food dreams come true then I would want to do something else that is also creative. I love being an entrepreneur, food and art are my passions. Right now, I get to indulge both but, if I couldn't work in the food industry I would have to do something in the arts since I love to paint. I like the idea of being a painter. If you could cook with anyone, who would that be? I would want to cook with Queen Martha Stewart. Maybe get to meet her chickens, experiment with some new recipes, chat and laugh over some cocktails and snacks. It all sounds too fabulous and now I am excited. What’s your favorite NYCWFF memory? Many years ago, I had the privilege of participating in NYCWFF with my other company. We met amazing people and got an overwhelming response from the crowd. We had the opportunity to sample delicious food and the drinks were wonderful…..I was riding on cloud nine!
