Evan Stein

Born in Manhattan and raised outside of Philadelphia, Evan always had a love for Philly sports and the hospitality industry.
In 2006, Evan founded a Philly-centric sports bar concept called Shorty’s, offering New Yorkers authentic cheesesteaks and South Philly-style sandwiches served in a sports bar environment. He successfully grew the brand to five locations in NYC but left in 2019 after a fall out with his partners.
Evan launched a similar concept in 2022 called Olde City. He was able to reopen in two of his former Shorty’s locations and opened a third location in Chelsea this past June. While all three Olde City locations already have a loyal Philly following, especially on NFL Sundays, the Chelsea location has become the new home for Arsenal soccer fans in NYC. A former college soccer standout at Lehigh University, Evan is extremely proud of the Philly and Arsenal love that Olde City has received, in addition to the continued and growing support from NYC locals.

The food continues to be the star at Olde City due to Evan’s commitment to authenticity. The par-baked hoagie rolls are shipped in from the city of brotherly love and baked in-house every hour. Evan stands by the fact that a true cheesesteak must be served on fresh baked Philly bread, and he remains steadfast that Olde City is the only place in New York to experience a truly legit cheesesteak.

Evan has plans to expand the Olde City brand in and around the city with potential franchising in the near future.
