My name is Giovanni Cesarano and I am co owner/Pizziola at King Umberto of Elmont. My father, Ciro Cesarano, has been making pizza for 50 years and brought me in to the business. Although he never wanted me to be a pizza maker I fell in love with it at a young age and tried other jobs but always came back to King Umberto. Pizza to me is not just another fast food option. My name is Giovanni Cesarano and I am co owner/Pizziola at King Umberto of Elmont. My father, Ciro Cesarano, has been making pizza for 50 years and brought me in to the business. Although he never wanted me to be a pizza maker I fell in love with it at a young age and tried other jobs but always came back to King Umberto. Pizza to me is not just another fast food option. I believe in always finding ways to improve and make pizza better. I’ve studied at other pizzerias in the United States and observed many in Italy to watch and hopefully pick up so new tricks to apply to King Umberto. I’ve competed nationally and internationally at competitions and came in first in 2018 and the caputo cup in Atlantic City for my gluten free sicilian pizza. I hope to continue to learn and hone my craft.
