Biography

Mr. Angerer was born and raised in Austria where he studied hotel & restaurant business. In the beginning his professional life took him to France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany where he expanded his skills in haute fine dining establishment. Notably Mr. Angerer apprenticed at Restaurant Steirereck in Vienna, Joel Robuchon in Paris and Heinz Winkler in Bavaria. In the beginning his professional life took him to France, Italy, Switzerland and Germany where he expanded his skills in haute fine dining establishment. Notably Mr. Angerer apprenticed at Restaurant Steirereck in Vienna, Joel Robuchon in Paris and Heinz Winkler in Bavaria. In 1994 Tony May, from the acclaimed San Domenico NY, brought Mr Angerer to the United States. Later Mr. Angerer was part of the opening team of Jean Georges at Trump Tower and the eponymous David Bouley Restaurant in Tribeca.

Angerer owned and operated Fresh, Shore, Coast, and Klee, an American Brasserie. After that he was one of the founding members of the New York City based Dig Inn, which was a front runner in the fast-casual restaurant scene that has been built up to a 26 unit chain and is currently set for national expansion. In 2015 Mr. Angerer instituted the lauded by CHLOE fast casual restaurant concept with Esquared hospitality. Mr. Angerer is the proprietor of DAconsulting, a global hospitality advisory company based in New York City. Currently, he is the Director of Operations & Culinary at Hu Kitchen.

Memorable appearances on TV include, being a contestant on Iron Chef America and Alton Brown’s Cutthroat Kitchen, and his win in Battle Beer against Chef Bobby Flay. He has also appeared on MSNBC, Fox, LX-TV, Live with Regis and Kelly, and in numerous magazines and newspapers, including People, Gourmet, Men’s Health Magazine, Self Magazine, the New York Times, New Yorker, Time Out New York, and the New York Post.
