Chef Jae Jung is the chef and owner of KJUN, a Korean-Cajun restaurant in New York City. Originally from Seoul, Chef Jae left her family to move to the United States in 2009 to attend the Culinary Institute of America in New York.
Chef Jae’s culinary experience spans years cooking in kitchens in both New Orleans and New York, including stints working with legendary Chef Leah Chase of Dooky Chase in New Orleans and with Chef Eric Ripert at Le Bernardin.
During the COVID pandemic Chef Jae launched a celebrated pop-up series featuring her KJUN recipes and techniques, before opening her first retail location in Midtown, Manhattan in Fall 2022. KJUN received a starred review as a Critic’s Pick in the New York Times in its’ first year of operation. Chef Jae competed on Top Chef: Season 19, and appears regularly as a judge on Feed Network programs, and her KJUN cuisine has been featured in recent publications and press including CBS News, Food & Wine Magazine, the New Yorker, Bloomberg Food, and the New York Times.
