Chef Jesus Perez Escobar is the Executive Chef of Cameron Mitchell Restaurant’s Ocean Prime NYC restaurant. Chef Escobar has been with the company at Ocean Prime NYC for over five years. He started out as a line cook and has worked her way up through the ranks to Executive Chef.
Prior to Ocean Prime, Chef Escobar worked with acclaimed restauranteurs such as Stephen Starr and Jason Atherton at their lauded Clocktower Restaurant in the Edition Hotel and Scott Conant at his now-closed Faustina as well as Momi Ramen Eats in the Hamptons where he also worked his way through the ranks to Head Chef.
Originally from Mexico City, Chef Escobar enjoys creating dishes and working with fresh ingredients. His passion is preparing fish, whether raw or cooked because of the infinite number of dishes and combinations that can be created and the many flavors and textures. Sushi is one of his favorite dishes to prepare at Ocean Prime NYC.
He enjoys the camaraderie at Ocean Prime and delivering genuine hospitality to guests, which is a core value of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. As Executive Chef he is looking forward to taking on new challenges and helping develop his team.
Chef Escobar lives in the Bronx and is the married father of two children. His wife is also a chef and when they are both at home, enjoy cooking for each other.
