Luis Carlos Perez, aka Luisk (pronounced Luis- kaa) was born and raised in Marchena, Seville, Spain, and has over 10 years of experience working in restaurants. Luisk’s passion to become a Chef came at an early age, when he realized that it was the only way that no one could keep him away from his love for food. Therefore, after finishing his primary studies, at just 19 years old, he began his career as an assistant cook with Spain’s prominent hospitality and hotel group Accor while he also gained his culinary education at the Hotel and Restaurant Culinary School Taberna del Alabardero in Seville. During this time, he mastered his craft working at various popular restaurants in his hometown, like Capricho to name a few, where he felt he learned a lot and truly enjoyed working with such a professional team. At only 25 years old, he became head cook and kitchen manager.

After having spent his whole life in the kitchen, Luisk always knew he was destined for more. Little did he know, that one summer night hanging out with his friends at one of the local bars (Jaime Guardiola owned) that opportunity would present itself without even knowing it, and where he would meet Black Iron Burger’s executive chef and co-owner Jaime Guardiola who pitched him the idea of joining the new Black Iron Burger project. Without too much thought, Luisk decided to leave everything he knew and his close family and friends, and five weeks later was on a plane to the big apple. Without knowing the language, culture or city, Luisk worked day in and day out, helping with the re-launch of Black Iron Burger.

At present time, Luisk is part of the management and ownership team at Black Iron Burger, and is in charge of managing all Black Iron Burger locations. Luisk has been with Black Iron Burger since the company acquired the original Black Iron Burger on 5th street, and he is the creator of the Black Iron Hashbrown burger. A creative at heart, Luisk’s inspiration in the kitchen also comes from his love and passion for Hip-Hop music, street and modern art.
