Nick Larsen is the co-founder and co-owner of Sugar Hill Creamery, Harlem’s first family-owned handmade ice cream shop, which opened its doors in 2017. Sugar Hill Creamery has opened two additional locations in Harlem and an outpost in Time Out Market in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Sugar Hill Creamery has been featured on the Today Show, in the New York Times, and is listed as one of 18 essential ice cream shops in New York City on Eater, as well as one of the best ice cream shops in the world according to the Financial Times.

Before Sugar Hill Creamery, Nick moved to New York City to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian. For years, Nick supported himself by waiting tables while, “being funny, just not that funny.” Finished with showbiz types, Nick graduated from the International Culinary Center and began his ascension through some of New York City’s finest dining establishments. He worked for David Bouley’s flagship restaurant as Maitre D’Hotel, and then joined Blue Hill as Service Director under Dan Barber. Nick then became the General Manager of the highly-regarded restaurant Telepan. He is currently head of acquisitions for the procurement of ice cream and confections for his three children ages 5, 7, and 10.
