Biography

Lanfranco Paliotti developed a passion for food in his Grandmother’s Taverna in Ascoli Piceno. At the age of 19 Paliotti moved to London. While attending Westminster Kingsway Chef School, he started as an apprentice at Carluccio’s, a high volume, acclaimed Italian restaurant, riding the ranks to eventually become Carluccio’s sous chef. With this experience, Paliotti left London for 3 years to explore the different cuisines throughout Australia and South East Asia. Lanfranco Paliotti developed a passion for food in his Grandmother’s Taverna in Ascoli Piceno. At the age of 19 Paliotti moved to London. While attending Westminster Kingsway Chef School, he started as an apprentice at Carluccio’s, a high volume, acclaimed Italian restaurant, riding the ranks to eventually become Carluccio’s sous chef. With this experience, Paliotti left London for 3 years to explore the different cuisines throughout Australia and South East Asia. Lanfranco was then brought on to open Brasserie Joel, a Joël Antunes restaurant, in the Park Plaza Hotel. It was through this experience that Paliotti was recommended to work with Daniel Boulud in New York City, working within the Michelin starred Daniel and eventually opening Boulud Sud. After 18 months, and an expired visa, Paliotti returned to London. He was hired as a sous chef for the opening of Bread Street Kitchen, an American dining experience headed by Gordon ramsey. After the opening, Paliotti was offered a sous chef position at Apsleys Heinz Beck, a one Michelin starred Italian restaurant in Mayfair. Two years later he left Apsleys to open Oblix, a Rainer Becker (of Zuma,) high volume, fine dining American restaurant. In 2016 paliotti had the opportunity to move back to the US. After a short time staging at the 2 Michelin starred, Acquerello, in San Francisco, he was offered the position of head chef at Evelina, a highly recognized Mediterranean influenced Italian restaurant in Brooklyn, New York. In 2018 Paliotti was named Chopped champion in the 10th episode, 41st season of the Food Network’s Chopped competition.
