Biography

Chef Thomas Perone cooks from the heart. His passion for the hospitality industry began as a young boy in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn were he was born and raised. Tommy spent his teen years working in restaurants all over Brooklyn before graduating from the Institute of Culinary Education in 2004.

Upon graduation, Tommy founded the successful Thomas Joseph Catering Company and Cali’s Greek Kitchen. Now known simply as “The Pig Guy”, Tommy soon landed with his good friends and fellow Brooklyn restaurateurs at The Kettle Black, Ho’Brah Tacos and Tuscany Grill where he helped launch their Staten Island locations and is currently on board helping open several more.

Tommy is set to announce his latest endeavor: Brooklyn Roots Events. Brooklyn Roots encompasses all his original concepts as well as his new partnership with his childhood friends at the Kettle Black, Ho’Brah and Tuscany.

Tommy is proud people recognize that his cooking style is symbolic of his beloved Brooklyn – always a melting pot and always a celebration of diversity.
