Born and raised in the picturesque city of Medellin, Columbia, Lida Moreno’s culinary journey began early, learning the art of cooking from her mother and grandmother — a formative experience that ignited her lifelong passion for the culinary arts.
Moreno joined the esteemed team at Pink Taco In 2019, where she serves as Director of Culinary and is responsible for ensuring the harmony and excellence of kitchen operations across their five properties. Her career started in 1996 at a Tex Mex grab-and-go restaurant, where Moreno immersed herself in the fundamentals of food service, rising swiftly through the ranks due to her hard work and commitment. Over the years, Moreno’s professional trajectory led her to iconic establishments like Chevy’s in Times Square, where she thrived amidst New York City’s demanding culinary standards.
At Pink Taco, Moreno faces each day with enthusiasm, embracing the challenges of managing a dynamic kitchen environment. She finds joy in the fast-paced nature of the job, where no two days are alike, and every moment is an opportunity to showcase her culinary creativity and leadership.
Throughout her career, Moreno has consistently exceeded industry benchmarks, notably during her tenure at Chevy’s and Veggie Grill, where her meticulous attention to detail and strategic management style ensured operational excellence. Her crowning achievement came at the South Beach Food & Wine Festival, where she led her team in serving more than 1,000 tacos in a single night — a testament to her leadership and culinary prowess.
Beyond her professional achievements, Moreno treasures her time with family — her husband, adult children and their beloved dogs — as a source of joy and inspiration. As an immigrant who made the United States her home at the age of 20, Lida takes pride in her journey and the opportunities that have allowed her to thrive in a career she loves.
