Jared, a product of the New York suburbs, started his career in barbecue when he took a kitchen job at Hill Country at the end of 2008 and hasn’t looked back. He has built up his skills learning from the chefs he has worked closely with as well as as on his own, in the backyard with a beer in hand. Jared, a product of the New York suburbs, started his career in barbecue when he took a kitchen job at Hill Country at the end of 2008 and hasn’t looked back. He has built up his skills learning from the chefs he has worked closely with as well as as on his own, in the backyard with a beer in hand. Barbecue has taken him from the New York City circuit to London where he worked as an executive barbecue chef for a restaurant group, while spending his free time traveling Europe. When he came back to New York he felt it was time to take all that he had learned and focus it on Randall’s, a relaxed bar and restaurant located in the Lower East Side. The restaurant being named after his grandparents (Randall is his mother’s maiden as well as his middle name), you will find him tucked away in the open kitchen, slicing and plating barbecue, while bobbing his head to the punk rock playing over the speakers.
