Samantha Davis is partner at Ingrained Hospitality Concepts LLC and Culinary Director of FIELDTRIP. Samantha is a first-generation, Jamaican-American who is creatively influenced by Caribbean cuisine, bringing a passion for spices, unexpected pairings, and food exploration.

Samantha previously cooked at Melba’s, Birds & Bubbles, Barneys New York and Minton’s, where she began working closely with Chef JJ Johnson. Samantha previously cooked at Melba’s, Birds & Bubbles, Barneys New York and Minton’s, where she began working closely with Chef JJ Johnson. Her culinary passion has allowed her to travel to countries including Thailand, Israel and Italy. She currently serving as an Ambassador for the Jamaican Tourism Board.

What is your favorite NYC restaurant? And what is your go-to dish? Right now, my favorite restaurant is KazuNori. I cannot get enough of those hand rolls. What is your ultimate meal? My ultimate meal is probably the first thing I get when I go back to Jamaica. Escovitch fish with a lot of onions and peppers, bammy and ice-cold coconut water and rum. What three things are always in your pantry? Hot sauces that I make at home, smoked finishing salt, and turmeric. If you weren't a chef, what would you be? This changes all the time, but I think I'd be in entertainment in some capacity. If you could cook with anyone, who would that be? Rihanna, because Rihanna. I'm obsessed with her. What’s your favorite NYCWFF memory? Dancing all night listening to Rev Run rap all his Run DMC hits.
