The heart and soul of The Bearded Baker is our owner and head baker, Scott Krevat. His journey with macarons started in 2015, after he was gifted a box from his mother. He ate the whole box on the way home, and was instantly hooked and fascinated with the pastry.
He began learning the process of baking macarons with zero years of baking experience under his belt. Four months of trial and error eventually led to Scott learning the basic techniques. Now, after perfecting the craft with the same meticulous mind that led him to study chemistry once upon a time at NYU, Scott finds joy in constantly evolving the flavors and concoctions of the macarons.
In 2021, The Bearded Baker, found a permanent home in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill neighborhood after 6 years of selling macarons solely at farmers’ markets around New York state. Inside our small but bustling bakery, you can find Scott’s famous macarons next to a plethora of other cookies, brownies, espresso drinks, and even frozen treats for the summer.
