My name is David Hansel, I am from Syracuse, NY. I have been cooking for 20 years in many different styles of kitchens. In my current role I oversee the operations of three restaurants; Stella 34 Trattoria, Rowland’s Bar and Grill, and NYC Pizza by Patina Restaurant Group. All three restaurants are located in Macy’s Herald Square. I have been with Patina Restaurant Group for ten years. In my previous role with the company, I was the executive chef of La Fonda del Sol and Cucina Express.
Prior to Patina, I worked for Daniel Boulud on the opening team at Boulud Sud. I worked with Chef Chip Smith to help him open The Simone, and I worked for Paul Hathaway in Pioneer Valley as an intern at Chez Albert early on in my career. I am very familiar with French and Spanish cuisine, but my love for Italian cuisine out shadows my knowledge of other styles of cooking.
