DESCRIPTION

Sababa with Solomonov

Four-time James Beard Award winner and the “Solo” in the CooknSolo Restaurant empire Michael Solomonov is returning to NYCWFF to host an Israeli Brunch at his new Brooklyn hotspot, Laser Wolf. Solomonov was born in Israel and raised in Philadelphia before returning to Israel and discovering his passion for cooking. His restaurants celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of Israeli cuisine and run the gamut from fine dining to a hummusiya to doughnuts and fried chicken and a vegan shake shop! They have been praised as “outstanding,” one of “The 40 Most Important Restaurants of the Past 40 Years” and as best new restaurants. SNACKTIME, a legendary, Philadelphia-based, 7-piece brass band that became famous for their quest to bring people snippets (snacks) of joy outside all over the city during the pandemic led by a boisterous, tuba-playing, former CooknSolo staffer will enhance the brunch with lively tunes and good vibes. For this exciting brunch, each course will highlight the cuisine of a different region of the Middle East with accompanying music from SNACKTIME. As Chef Solomonov says, "For two millennia, Jews have been wandering the earth, embracing the cultures and cuisines of their local hosts, adapting them to their religions and dietary needs and transmitting the results at each stop along the way.” We can't wait to see what he creates for NYCWFF!

Wine and spirits will be provided by Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits.
