Adrii’s Kitchen is Catering Service that was created by a young female chef from Spanish Harlem. She brings all of your favorite traditional cuisines and puts her own personal twist on each. After becoming a mother in 2014 she was determined to learn how to cook for her family and gradually developed a passion for the culinary arts. Pico de Gallo Fish Tacos

 

Ingredients:

1 half of a red onion
1 serrano chilli pepper
3 stems of cilantro
A dash of salt
A dash of black pepper
1 lime
1 stem tomato
1 fresh tilapia
A dash of paprika
A dash of old bay seasoning
A pinch of onion powder
A dash of black pepper
Pita Bread
Flour
1 lemon
1 1/2 cups of Vegetable oil

 

Directions:

Dice your fresh Tomato

Mince your red onion, serrano chilli pepper and cilantro leafs.

Place all together in 1 bowl, mix and then add your dashes of salt and black pepper.

Cut your lime in half and squeeze over all the fresh ingredients.

Mix everything together and then cover with plastic wrap on your bowl of pico de gallo and place in fridge until ready to serve.

Now take your Tilapia and squeeze some lemon over it

Then add your seasoning to your tilapia ( pinch of onion powder, dash of old bay, dash of black pepper and dash of paprika)

Rub your fish thoroughly

Now put 2 cups of flour in a zip lock bag. You want to also season your flour with the same ingredients your put on your tilapia.

Place tilapia in bag of flour and shake it up for about 1 min. Make sure the entire fish is covered.

Put your vegetable oil in frying pan on medium fire and let it heat up to 350 degrees.

Now slowly place your tilapia in pan and let each side cook till it has a golden brown color.

Use tongs to take fish out of pan and let it sit on paper towels for about 5-8 mins.

You will only be using 1 half of your tilapia and 1 half of your pita bread.

Place your half of tilapia horizontal on your vertical half piece of pita bread

Now put a table spoon of your pico de gallo on top of the tilapia and take a toothpick to close the top two ends of the pita bread.

Now enjoy!
