We’re Sarah & Emily: the gluten-obsessed gals behind Petite Pasta Joint. We met the good old-fashioned way: Sarah slid into Emily’s DMs to ask if she’d be interested in hosting a dinner party together out of Sarah’s family-owned pasta shop: Raffetto’s Fresh Pasta. Unable to say no to a good time, Emily obliged. Our pasta dinner was a hit but the real magic was the friendship that bloomed from it: we realized we go together like “cacio” and “pepe” and so Petite Pasta Joint, our pasta pop-up + private events company, was born. Check us out in The New York Times and on the The Rachael Ray Show.
About Sarah:
Sarah Raffetto (also known as @pastaheiress on Instagram) is a humble ’pasta-preneur’ who has dedicated herself to preserving her family’s historic pasta legacy while simultaneously making her own pasta-shaped mark on her favorite city in the world. She is the eldest member of the 4th generation of her family business, Raffetto’s Pasta, where she runs the
retail division alongside her dad. Together, they maintain old school tradition while elevating the brand through intentional collaborations and partnerships, including a recent monthly pasta club where the recipes don’t always strictly follow Raffetto’s tradition. Her passion for Italian cuisine and growing involvement in the family business (in part facilitated by the decade+ she spent living in the apartments directly above the pasta shop) sparked Sarah’s dream of opening her own restaurant concept one day. Driven by her love of hospitality and cooking, she co-founded the pasta popup and private events company called ‘Petite Pasta
Joint’ with her business partner and best friend, Emily Fedner, in 2019. In 2023, Sarah became an inaugural contestant on Food Network’s newest Italian-centric competition show, Ciao House. Most recently, she co-founded Midnight Spaghetti: a late night pasta concept in the West Village.

About Emily:
Originally from a Russian-Jewish immigrant family in Columbus, Ohio, Emily Fedner grew up surrounded by food, culture and vodka – a perfect precursor to her career in restaurants that began when she was just 15 years old. After many front-of-house restaurant gigs throughout school and a post-grad career as a food publicist for clients including the likes of April Bloomfield and Michael Symon, she decided to hop the fence and get her hands dirty as a line cook at Frankies 570 Spuntino. Today she is the co-founder of Petite Pasta Joint, a 26- seat pasta pop-up + private events company operating out of the historic Raffetto’s Fresh Pasta space, as well as the gal behind @foodloversdiary, an Instagram account dedicated to sharing culture-driven recipes and hidden gems in NYC + abroad. Emily’s passion for the industry has earned her both local and national press, including the summer 2024 covers for Edible Manhattan and Edible Brooklyn magazines.
