Hamburger America has been years in the making. George Motz has made it his life’s mission to protect the legacy of the hamburger and, along with partners Peter Imber, Jonathan & Andrew Schnipper, this passion project has become a reality.

Every menu item, framed photo, the counters and stools hint at a past which is still very much alive today. What began as a straightforward food film documentary project exploring some of the quirkier burger stories in the US has evolved, decades later, into four television shows, five books and countless pop-ups around the globe in the name of burger appreciation. This neighborhood burger joint is George’s love letter to the American hamburger.
