Danny Christensen and Modern Huntsman

Born in Denmark, Danny Christensen grew up on a hobby farm, lived in Greece where he was a divemaster, went to college in Copenhagen, worked in advertising, and started a production company in New York. In 2018, Danny moved to Italy, where he lives with his partner and fellow photographer Claudia, enjoying days of hunting, recipe making, and fresh off-the-fire cooking.

Danny is a contributor to The Modern Huntsman Cookbook, brought to you by a collective of chefs, artists, hunters, conservationists, anglers and naturalists focused on the sustainable use of our wild resources.

We chose the name Modern Huntsman to reflect our hybrid belief that respecting our past is essential while adapting to the future. It comes from a period when “Huntsman” meant more than someone who only knew the ways of the woods, but was a multifaceted, dynamic and thoughtful participant in society and nature.
