Stephanie Bonnin is a Colombian Caribbean chef, artist, and food storyteller who has dedicated her career to exploring the intersection of immigrant and indigenous tropical food traditions. Her culinary journey began with LaTropiKitchen, a food project she co-founded with her husband, Pablo Bonnin, in 2017. What began as intimate home dinners in New York City has since evolved into a multidisciplinary gastronomic experience. Through her work, Bonnin has become a storyteller focused on the rich and diverse foodways of her native Colombia, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Bon Appétit, Eater, and Vanity Fair, and she has appeared in recent cooking segments on Food52 and in John Leguizamo’s Leguizamo Does America. Through Patio Tropical, she continues to honor and amplify these traditions, offering an inviting space where flavors, stories, and culture come together to foster community and preserve these rich culinary legacies.
