Senna, Sage & Ginger Lau are sisters, NYC natives, and co-founders of Baby’s Buns & Buckets, A multi-generational women/minority-owned zhuzhed up homage to their mother’s legacy. Their fast-casual spot offers a fresh spin on Thai street food, blending the bold, comforting flavors of traditional Thai cuisine with the convenience of American dining. Their parents immigrated from Thailand and turned to food to build roots in America. Their mother and chef, “Mama Toon”, began her journey in the early 1980s as a pioneer of Thai food in the NYC landscape. Over the years, the sisters supported their family businesses by designing the spaces and working in the restaurant from time to time. These experiences led them to explore ways of reaching a broader audience with their own venture.
