Sujan Sarkar is the Executive Chef of Baar Baar – a modern yet rustic Indian restaurant featuring Sarkar’s contemporary approach to authentic Indian dishes in a vibrant setting inspired by the culture, art and spirit of his home country. Sarkar is also Executive Chef and Partner of ROOH, the acclaimed San Francisco restaurant where he showcases his interpretation of new-age Indian cuisine.

Sujan Sarkar is the Executive Chef of Baar Baar – a modern yet rustic Indian restaurant featuring Sarkar’s contemporary approach to authentic Indian dishes in a vibrant setting inspired by the culture, art and spirit of his home country. Sarkar is also Executive Chef and Partner of ROOH, the acclaimed San Francisco restaurant where he showcases his interpretation of new-age Indian cuisine.

Championing progressive cooking deeply rooted in tradition, Chef Sujan was an early adopter of the farm to table movement and his experiments with decade-old recipes have led to the birth of ambitious projects like TRESIND in Dubai and Ek Bar – India’s first Artisanal Cocktail Concept.

Sarkar has developed his distinctive culinary style over the years, first working with Andre Garrett & Chris Galvin from the Michelin starred Galvin at Windows at London Park Lane; and later heading Automat and Almada at Mayfair in London as well as Olive Bar & Kitchen in New Delhi.

Sujan has been awarded the Best Chef of 2016 at The Times Food & Nightlife Awards and has been a London Chef of the Year Finalist (2008-09), as well as listed on the National Chef of the Year shortlist (2011-2013).
