Born and raised in (Tel Aviv), Israel, Tomer Blechman’s passion for the culinary arts began as a child, cooking alongside his grandmother. He moved to New York in 2005 to practice shiatsu, but later found his passion for cooking by adopting the philosophy of healing through food. This discovery drew him to study at the Culinary Institute of America in upstate New York, and subsequently to the vibrant culinary scene of New York City, where he refined his craft at restaurants like Cookshop, and Union Square Hospitality’s Maialino and Gramercy Tavern. His experience eventually led him to open his own restaurant Miss Ada in 2017, a modern Israeli restaurant in Fort Greene, where he seamlessly weaves his Israeli heritage with culinary expertise. Miss Ada has become a beloved restaurant for local residents and destination diners with accolades and reviews from The Michelin Guide, New York Magazine, Eater and more. Tomer’s newest restaurant, Theodora has a focus on modern Mediterranean cuisine with an emphasis on the use of dry-aged fish and wood-fire cooking.
