Alejandro Rojas was born and raised in Lima, Peru. He attended Le Cordon Bleu Peru in his teenage years and apprenticed at many renowned restaurants throughout Lima. He then moved to New York City to help his parents open their second restaurant, Urubamba, in Jackson Heights in 2007.

With passion and focus, he opened Jora in Long Island City, NY. Jora specializes in Peruvian fare that preserves authentic flavors with a modern touch and also features craft Pisco cocktails. It has become a neighborhood favorite since its opening in 2014.
