Angela Yee started her career in artist management and marketing after graduating from Wesleyan University with a BA in English. Angela’s first job was working as assistant to the CEO of Wu-Tang Corporation, where she handled payroll, travel, and studio and press bookings for the acclaimed hip-hop group. She went on to work in marketing, freelancing for various clothing brands and record labels including Eminem’s clothing line “Shady LTD” and Nile Rodgers’ distribution label “Sumthing Else Distribution.”

Angela transitioned to radio on Sirius XM for Eminem’s station “Shade 45.” She went from being a co-host and the only woman on the entire station to getting her own morning show, “The Morning After with Angela Yee.” After six years, she made the decision to take a risk and start “The Breakfast Club” alongside her co-hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne at iHeart Media. For the past nine years she has developed her own branded segments “Angela Yee’s Rumor Report” and “Ask Yee,” where she gives earnest, expert advice based off her own life experiences and what she has learned from over twenty years in management, entrepreneurship, marketing, and research. “The Breakfast Club” has transcended hip-hop and pop culture to become a popular stop for both rising and established politicians, community activists, and business leaders. Guests have ranged from Hillary Clinton to Jennifer Lopez to Dave Chapelle to Jay-Z and everyone in between.

Aside from her morning show duties, Angela has her own podcast “Angela Yee’s Lip Service” which can be heard on iTunes, Tidal, Spotify, Soundcloud, and viewed on YouTube. “Lip Service” is known for fun and provocative commentary, where guests can let down their guard and get more personal.

Yee has also been focused on entrepreneurship, opening the “Juices for Life” juice bar in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn and recently starting a subscription based pressed-juice business called “Drink Fresh Juice.” In addition to prioritizing health-based ventures, she is actively involved in the community, becoming the first New York Public Library Ambassador and the first ever Global Ambassador for Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement for Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment Global (BSE) which includes the Barclays Center, Webster Hall, and the Brooklyn Nets.

In her spare time, Angela has her book club “Angela Yee’s Book Club,” her running club “Run With Yee,” and her “Wealth Wednesdays” series with financial expert Stacey Tisdale. She is also on the board for “The American Foundation for the University of the West Indies (AFUWI),” and for the “We Are Family Foundation (WAFF).” Last year, Mayor Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray awarded the Brooklyn native with her own day in NYC, August 28.
